We came across a wonderful Timeline campaign that is simply ‘mind blowing’!
The iconic Italian Scooter, Vespa launched a contest in India signifying its re-entry into the country.
Vespa painstakingly detailed its journey through ages on Facebook Timeline, dating back to 1943 when its first prototype was made. Every single milestone was documented backed by pictures, video, audio and the little facts that make the fan boys go crazy.
A campaign called Once Upon A Vespa was designed around the Timeline. The contest contained 8 interactive sections with extensive multimedia, containing questions and activities of m
edium difficulty. But most of the answers could be easily found on the Timeline, which the contest app hints each time you get an answer wrong.
For the grand prize of ‘Tickets to Italy’, you can participate in the contest, share your creations on Facebook and have a lot of fun.
A master stroke, we must say, because the whole experience is highly interactive, has viral elements linking to Facebook at each stage and more importantly drives traffic back to Timeline, which has very interesting content. The campaign makes the user familiar with the history of the brand and creates an emotional bond through references to classic movies, music and makes the user participate in the Vespa experience.
