Facebook Pages without basic hygiene look unprofessional. Worse, your fans may not even believe the Page is authentic. Facebook says that features like Cover Photo and Timeline represent a brand identity. If you ignore these, the identity just gets lost.

Among the basic necessities is a Vanity URL for the Page, Profile photo, cover photo and a completely filled About section. Without these, the Page not only looks incomplete, but neglected too.

Claim your URL before squatters snatch it

The lessons of Website URLs are still fresh in memory. But Pages on Facebook repeat the same mistake sometimes.

Your unique FB URL (the ‘Vanity URL’) should be short and more importantly small e

nough to fit on your business cards. You get to claim your Vanity URLs early in Page creation – with as little as 25 fans.

Yet Pages ignore this basic hygiene factor and retain their long and ungainly generic URLs giving squatters a chance. If you haven’t claimed your unique URL yet, don’t delay any further!
